Vale Hotel History

Original architect H.W. Bond of Weiser, built the structure in 1907 with the lowest bid of $33,433.00.  The large limestone bricks were quarried near Vale and the red brick at the Nevada Ditch brick yard.  The hotel  has held "Tony's Barber Shop," "Red Robin Cafe," "US Bank," and at one time the fire siren and city water tower were located on top of the hotel.  Famous artists Bing Crosby and Charles Russell were inspired while staying at the Vale Hotel.

Renovation

Huge gains have been made to the Vale Hotel's structural stabilization.  During 2000-2004, the Hotel's faulty skylights were removed.  New roof trusses, decking, and roofing materials were installed.  All of the broken and damaged windows have been replaced, and the latest improvement has been the successful installation of a 1,000 pound steel support which has stabilized the structure and allowed for the renovation to continue.  Click here to see pictures of Hotel progress.
